Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced that he had renewed the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration. This renewal will be effective October 23, 2020 and will extend current Public Health Emergency flexibility another 90 days from that date, to near the end of January 2021.
This means that the current rules and guidelines regarding reporting virtual visits, telephone management and other telehealth benefits that were relaxed during the PHE will remain in effect through most of January.
